Nerja is a popular town located about 1h east of Málaga. It is a vibrant city with a large proportion of residents, which makes Nerja pleasant to visit all year round. Nerja attracts visitors both in summer and winter, and it is often a few degrees warmer in Nerja than on other parts of the Costa del Sol. The city’s location between Sierra Nevada and the Mediterranean creates a microclimate that raises the temperature a few degrees.
Nerja differs slightly from other places on the Costa del Sol as the city almost completely lacks high-rise buildings. In the city center you will find only two- and three-storey houses, which contributes to the city’s charm.
